京都大学　2017年度入学試験　英語　英作文の問題に挑戦してみましょう。

英作文は自分の使える単語や表現によって、短時間で解答を完成させなければなりません。
問題文の日本語も決してやさしい表現ではありませんから、日本語の意味するところをしっかりと理解することが重要です。
難しいことばは自分が英語に直すことができるところまでやさしく読み替えていくといいと思います。その辺りに注意して解答を考えてみましょう。

生兵法は大怪我のもとというが、現代のように個人が簡単に発信できる時代には、特に注意しなければならない。聞きかじった知識を、さも自分で考えたかのように披露すると、後で必ず痛い目にあう。専門家とて油断は禁物、専門外では素人であることを忘れがちだ。さまざまな情報がすぐに手に入る世の中だからこそ、確かな知識を身に付けることの重要性を見直すことが大切である。

「生兵法は大怪我のもと」ということわざから始まります。
このことわざの英訳は、
A little knowledge/learning is a dangerous thing.

となっています。

知っていればそのまま使えるのですが、知らない人の方が多いでしょう。意味するところは、「少しばかりの知識では、それを頼るとひどい目にあいますよ、大失敗しますよ。」ということです。

生兵法を「不十分な準備」あるいは「適切な訓練なくして」と解釈して訳してみます。

「大怪我のもと」はその通りに訳してみます。

「というが・・・」という第三者による主張と表現されていますので、加えてみますと、

となるでしょう。

あるいは、「こういうことわざを私たちは知っているが」、という表現でもいいと思います。

「現代のように個人が簡単に発信できる時代には」のところでは、何を発信するかということが省略されていることに注意が必要です。

省略されていることばは、「知識」、「情報」、「考え」、「意見」など発信に相応しいものならばなんでも当てはまると思います。

あるいは、SNSなどのインターネット上での発信あるいは掲示を意味しますpost という単語を使うのもいいかもしれません。

「特に注意しなければならない」では、何に注意をする必要があるのかを明らかにしなければなりません。
情報を発信するときには、その情報の確かさ、信頼性、本当に自分は理解しているのかどうか、といったことに注意しなければならないということです。
We need to be careful enough when we tell something to others

「聞きかじった知識を」

As somebody says that we might have a heavy injury without proper training, we need to be careful enough when we tell something to others although each persons can send their own thoughts easily in several way of current information technology.

If we show some knowledge which we just saw or heard as we found or thought out it by ourselves, we will be confused because we will be required to show some more information or details of it and we cannot do it.

Even we are specialists in our own territory, we don’t have to take it easy because sometime we forget that we have poor knowledge outside of our own territory.

We need to remind that it’s very important to study appropriate knowledge especially in this world where we can obtain any information easily.
